Wow!… The first comment I made as I stood and looked at the 473 for the first time when she arrived for the Southampton Boat Show. Many many show visitors have since repeated this same initial comment. It is wonderful and uplifting to watch. You are first drawn to the boat by the sheer on the toerail hull lines; surely this must have been drawn with the inspiration of the gods.

A cockpit that has amazing space for passengers to relax in comfort, focused around a removable varnished mahogany table, the base of which becomes a sturdy handrail and footrest when the table is stowed away in a locker. A purposeful aft end to the cockpit, "the workhouse", with large primary winches to make ease of sheeting in the powerful genoa, located right by the twin helm positions which give you ease of movement and optimum visibility.

Wide side decks lead forward to an almost flush foredeck making walking around this boat very safe. On the foredeck there is the large anchor well, covered by a coaming, which also encompasses a substantial electric windlass.

The UK press were at first sceptical to say the least and yet, after even the first ten minutes, with a smile from ear to ear, we all knew that the report would confirm that Beneteau had a winner on their hands here. Read what they have to say!
