| INDIVIDUAL PLACES RACING AT COWES WEEK 2009
Cowes Week is an annual yachting regatta which became famous in the 1860’s. Since then, Cowes Week has been a great social occasion, one often attended by members of the Royal Family. Cowes is the UK’s most famous sailing resort, and its Royal Yacht Squadron is probably the world's most famous yacht club. The end of Cowes Week is celebrated with the popular fireworks display held on the Friday evening. We are offering bare boat racing and corporate hospitality days. COWES WEEK 2009: 1st - 8th August Cowes is renowned as the yachting centre of the world. The first Cowes Week race ever, began at 9.30 on 10th August 1826 for £100 gold cup. Since then its range of races and events has steadily grown and flourished. It was during the late 19th century Cowes Week reached its heyday when the cream of English society came to the town, though the town itself remained unconcerned with the fashionable flurry of the day. It is now the main yacht racing event probably in the world. Individual places racing on a Beneteau 40.7, Sigma 38 and many others. As in previous years MEC Sail are offering individual places on their fleet of yachts to go racing at Cowes. Come and experience the thrill of a days racing at Cowes Week 2009, onboard one of our Sigma 38 or Beneteau 40.7 and many other full on race yachts. No experience is necessary, both novice and experienced sailors are welcome. Your experienced skipper and mate will PRICE: £175 per person
