MEC Sail provide a skippered charter service whereby a professional skipper takes complete responsibility for the safety of the yacht and those aboard her.

No experience is needed for this kind of charter, but a desire to help sail the yacht will enhance your enjoyment.

WE CATER FOR:

  • Beginners wishing to gain experience and instruction
  • Special party events - stag weekends, hen parties - celebrations - birthdays etc.
  • People wishing to train for Day Skipper or Competent Crew
  • Singles crew wanting to meet others with like interests
  • Racing crew wanting to take part in top racing events

BOOKING PERIOD

We are completely flexible on the period of the booking. Some people may wish to day sail, others take a weekend or even a 4 to 5-day midweek break.

VENUE

Our boats are located at Ocean Village Marina and the area local to this is a great sailing arena with the Solent and cross-Channel / Channel Island possibilities. There is ample opportunity for both cruising and the best racing events in the land. There is a wide range of restaurants and bars in the locality and the boats are very accessible with free parking close by.

SKIPPERS

The skippers will act as your guide to the boat and local waters. They will enjoy showing people new places and letting them into their secrets — about sailing, the best places to swim, to eat, you name it.

Their guidance enables you to sail the yacht yourself if you wish, whether or not you are inexperienced, in the knowledge that a trained eye is in constant attendance. It’s a great way to learn. Training will be provided to whatever level required and with RYA certification in mind.

EXPERIENCE

Whether or not you are an experienced sailor, a skippered yacht can be a relaxed and informative way of exploring new cruising grounds or experimenting with unfamiliar yachts, perhaps one bigger than you’re used to.
