| STAG AND
HENS ON YACHTS
The name MEC Sail has become synonymous with having
good fun and a great time on the waters of the Solent. Our name derives
from like minded people years ago who would ''Make the Effort'' and as
a result, Make the Effort Club was born eventually becoming MEC Sail Ltd.
We organise hen and stag parties from our base at Ocean
Village Marina in Southampton. The joy of using any of our vast selection
of ten berth yachts allow any party the freedom to explore the harbours
of the Solent including Southampton and Portsmouth city centres for those
wishing to combine sailing with traditional stag/hen activities or some
quieter spots for those looking for more relaxation.
Our skippers know these waters and exciting venues ashore
like the backs of their hands and this knowledge ensures that you will
have the experience of a lifetime. At the same time our professional skipper
takes complete responsibility for the safety of the yacht and those aboard
her and yet will allow all crew to participate in the sailing of the yacht.
We can supply you with a complete guide of all the entertainment
in Southampton and Portsmouth including all of the very best in clubs,
pubs and restaurants. Two of the liveliest bar/restaurants are situated
in the marina itself. We can also recommend some other excellent venues
around the Solent.
Car parking is adjacent to the yachts with trains
or buses less than ten minutes away.
No experience is needed for this kind of charter,
but a desire to help sail the yacht will enhance your enjoyment. We accept
no parties that are not intent on having a good time and lots of fun.
HEN AND STAG ITINERARY
FOR THE WEEKEND (This is one example itinerary, but let us know what your
party is looking for and we will tailor your event for you)
Friday 1700 hrs.
Arrive Ocean Village Southampton, welcome on board by your
skipper and shown your berth. Quick chat and indication of the plan for
the weekend, with discussions of the best places to visit in Southampton.
The shower and toilet block is adjacent to the boats. After putting on
your glad rags or hen and stag outfits make your way to the marina bars
for a swifty before making your way up to Southampton city (5 minutes
walk) for an evening of fun and frivolity before returning to the yachts.
Saturday 1000 hrs.
When you're ready! Your male or female skipper will arrive.
You may then either have breakfast on board (not recommended due to sleeping
bodies) or have a full English or continental breakfast at one of the
marina venues. After a thorough safety briefing by your skipper and brief
details on how to sail a yacht you will leave Ocean Village marina and
head down Southampton Water on route to the Solent. You may wish to make
a quick visit into Cowes on the Isle of Wight for supplies and then head
east to Portsmouth. You may be lucky (if we pre-book)and call in at the
infamous Gun Wharf Quay which is surrounded by bars, restaurants and clubs.
There you can dance the night away or you may prefer to have a comedy
night before returning in the small hours to your yacht.

Sunday 1100 hrs.
When you're ready! Try and have breakfast before setting
sail back towards Southampton and the Solent. If we have time we may call
in at some picturesque harbours on route. We should have you back at the
marina by about 1700 hrs.

VENUE
Our boats are located at Ocean Village Marina and the area
local to this is a great sailing arena with the Solent and cross-Channel
/ Channel Island possibilities. There is ample opportunity for both cruising
and the best racing events in the land. There is a wide range of restaurants
and bars in the locality and the boats are very accessible with free parking
close by.

The skippers will act as your guide to the boat and local

their secrets — about sailing, the best places to swim, to eat,
you name it.
