There are many opportunities for individuals and small groups of people to go sailing without having to worry about finding a complete crew or being concerned about the type of people they are going to be sailing with.

MEC Sail have a long-standing reputation for providing events throughout the year that involve exciting sailing alongside an exciting and varied social scene.

 

WE CURRENTLY HAVE THE FOLLOWING DATES AVAILABLE:

Warsash Spring Series 2011
Every Sunday from 13 March for 6 weeks - £95 per race

Caribbean Racing 2011
We have individual places available for the Heineken, BVI and Antigua Regattas – please contact us for details.

Round The Island Race 2011
This race takes the normal format and Mec Sail is able to provide yachts for bareboat or skippered charter.

Cowes Week 2011
The international acclaimed Cowes Week regatta based at Cowes on the Isle of Wight provides exciting home water racing. Opportunities exist for day racing at £175 per person.

 

Fastnet Race 2011
August 2011 – Individual places still available.

Hamble Winter Series 2011
8 races, October – December - £95 per race.

ARC 2011
The grand finale - your chance to sail across the Atlantic. Ask for details.

Cork Week 2012
30 June - 6th July
This exciting regatta based in Crosshaven Ireland is one of the worlds most prestigious regattas. Mec Sail is able to provide opportunities to cruise there and back or to go racing. Yachts are also available for bareboat charter.

RORC / JOG racing – there is a full calendar of cross-channel racing which we can offer as a skippered charter if you have a complete crew wishing to take part, or bareboat according to qualifications.

Mileage trips and general cruise days
We will be putting together some mileage trips further afield to France or the West Country in 2011, as well as day cruising in the Solent for those who wish to sail with some tuition. If you have a group of friends or would like to get together with like minded sailors for a day or weekend sail, we will put a package together for you to include skipper, wet weather gear and all training as required.

SKIPPERS

The skippers will act as your guide to the boat and local waters. They will enjoy showing you new places and letting them into their secrets — about sailing, the best places to swim, to eat, you name it.

Their guidance enables you to sail the yacht yourself if you wish, whether or not you are inexperienced, in the knowledge that a trained eye is in constant attendance. It’s a great way to learn.

EXPERIENCE

Whether or not you are a beginner or an experienced sailor, a ‘fun sail’ can be a relaxed and informative way of exploring new cruising grounds or experimenting with unfamiliar yachts, perhaps one bigger than you’re used to.

We find people work as a team and with the hand of the skipper everyone should improve their sailing knowledge.
