SPRING SERIES RACING
Mec Sail were all prepared to go Hamble Spring series racing with a enthusiastic crew when mother nature intervened in the most unpleasant way. We awoke on board on the morning of the race to find up to four inches of snow deposited on the decks, and still falling heavily at 0900 hrs. The unprecedented weather made hazardous driving conditions on the motorways thus preventing other competitors from getting down to their yachts. Needless to say all racing was cancelled.
As they say next week we can try again.

Mec Sail were privileged to be able to take young Michael Perham and his parents out onto the Solent in January for a live television slot. Michael is the young lad that has already captured the nations attention by being the youngest sailor to cross the Atlantic on his own. He is now attempting to complete a circum navigation of the globe on his own. Plans are well under way for the exploit to commence in October this year. He is currently on the look out for sponsors to help him raise the considerable finances for the trip. If you would like to become involved in any way please call me for further information.

MEC Sail ITALY
Mec Sail is now able to offer charter yachts in Italy. Current bases for either skippered or bareboat charter include Genova (Liguria), Archipelago Toscano, Cannigione (Sardinia) and San Vito lo Capo Trapani (Sicily). All of the yachts are in excellent condition and range from the small Beneteau 31.7 through to the Oceanis 473. Cheap flights are available from the economy airlines. Please call for details.
For the corporate client looking for something different we are now able to provide some of the most prestigious motor yachts available for charter in the Mediterranean. Fly out to our selected Italian bases and be spoilt on one of our top of the range luxury motor yachts. Helicopter and tailored transfers are our specialty. A wonderfully stocked bar, great choice of restaurants at various locations, or you may prefer to just eat aboard. Ask for our in house menus or further details.

OCEAN VILLAGE
Come on guys - sort your lives out. No adequate storage facilities for the berth holders. No trolleys on a regular basis now. Little consideration, and certainly no incentives for the bertholders to remain at the marina. Parking tickets for contractors visiting the marina. This all adds up to a very poor deal for the berth holders.

CHARTERING
We now have available for charter the largest fleet of Beneteau 40.7s and Sigma 38s on the South Coast which are all ready to race or cruise, skippered or bareboat.

For the more discerning sailors and corporate clients Mec Sail is proud to announce the arrival of Gypsy Moth 1V after her world circumnavigation. She is available for charter from Ocean Village. We also have two matched Farr 52's, the out and out race yachts which will provide an experience of a lifetime in the Solent.

The famous Southampton 55' luxury sloop is now on Mec Sails fleet and is also available for skippered charter only. This is without doubt the highest quality yacht manufactured locally, with standards of finish unprecedented. Her unrivaled performance on the water make her the yacht for those wishing to impress.

DUE TO INCREASED DEMAND WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR OWNERS TO PLACE THEIR YACHTS INTO OUR YACHT CHARTER MANAGMENT SCHEME FOR 2008/2009.

Our corporate sailing section has had the busiest year ever. As an additional bonus we are now able to provide good rates on local hotel accommodation from 2* - 4*. Consider having your sales meetings, conferences, dinner parties, birthday parties etc at Ocean Village marina, at our conference rooms, combined with a day on the water either sailing or relaxing on a luxury motor yacht. We are able to supply gourmet cuisine, live music evening jollies, in fact any combination. Motor yachts range from 34ft to 66ft.

Other yachts include the inexpensive Freedom 33 for those wanting to increase their sailing skills. We have two beautiful new yachts, one a 84 ft ketch and a Beneteau 47.3 sailing yacht. What more could you want!

Ocean Village has now opened two of the busiest restaurant/bars in Southampton with stunning views both inside and outside over the marina. Fortunately they are on the other side of the marina so we have the best of both worlds. Oxford Street in Southampton boasts some of the best cuisine in the country and is five minutes walk from the marina.
